AAHP Executive Committee MeetingThe Executive Committee of the American Academy of Health Physics (AAHP) met during the Health Physics Society annual meeting recently held in Denver, Colorado. A number of issues were brought up and actions taken. Some of these will be reported in the next several issues of the CHP Corner. AAHP LogoA discussion was held regarding an AAHP logo. The Academy currently uses the CHP emblem as a logo but it does not include either American Academy of Health Physics or AAHP (see the upper left corner of this page). A decision was made to solicit designs for a logo that contains the name and/or AAHP. A couple of Executive Committee members volunteered to undertake this effort, however, it was also decided to solicit logo designs from Academy members. If you have an idea for an AAHP logo, transmit it to the Editor; an electronic file via email is preferred. The only rule is that the logo must contain the words American Academy of Health Physics and/or AAHP. The current CHP emblem might be incorporated into the AAHP logo or it can be retained as an emblem relating to CHP matters. AAHP BudgetA budget for the next fiscal year of $205,150 was discussed and approved by the Committee. This is almost the same amount as the last two fiscal years, with only a slight increase. Budget details will be included in a future issue of the CHP Corner or Newsletter. (Budget details were discussed during the AAHP Business Meeting held on Wednesday of the HPS meeting, but surprisingly only 57 CHPs attended the meeting!) Identification of Consulting CHPsThe Executive Committee decided to allow consulting CHPs to identify themselves on the AAHP Web site. This has been an ongoing issue for some time. You will be receiving information via email with more details on this. On a related issue, it was also decided to allow CHPs not to be listed at all on the Web site if they so desire.
